Treatments outcomes for eating disorders in Sweden<\/strong><\/p>\n

The quality registry Riks\u00e4t reports on 2600 patients treated annually for eating disorders. The number of patient free of symptoms has decreases from one in five to one in seven. Because the patients are not followed up, outcomes in the long term are unknown.<\/p>\n

But the results in Riks\u00e4t have been publicized as showing that \u201chalf or more than half of all patients are free of a diagnosis after treatment\u201d and that \u201c70% are cured\u201d, misleading the public and policy makers.<\/p>\n

Outcomes at the Mandometer Clinics are the best in Riks\u00e4t and the published outcomes, including five years of follow-up, are better than the published outcomes from clinics in other countries.<\/p>\n
