If you live in Region V\u00e4rmland<\/span><\/h5>\n

In order for patients from Region V\u00e4rmland to receive inpatient care at the Mandometer Clinic, a referral from a doctor with specialist competence in psychiatry \/ child and adolescent psychiatry is required.
\nFor outpatient care, self-registration is sufficient. We will then call you for an appointment.<\/p>\n

If you live in\u00a0 Region J\u00f6nk\u00f6pings l\u00e4n<\/span><\/h5>\n

Patients belonging to the Region J\u00f6nk\u00f6pings l\u00e4n can be treated at our inpatient clinics in Stockholm.

If you live in Sweden,\u00a0 but not in one of the Countys listed above<\/span><\/h5>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

All residents in Sweden are entitled to seek care and treatment from specialists domiciled anywhere in Sweden. However, please note that this applies to outpatient care only. Further, there are some requirements that need to be satisfied.<\/p>\n

If your home county requires a referral in order for you to obtain care at an outpatient clinic, you must ask your GP or other medical specialist for a referral to The Mandometer Clinic. You must also complete a self referral.[\/vc_column_text][vc_tta_accordion style=”flat” shape=”square” active_section=”4″ no_fill=”true” collapsible_all=”true”][vc_tta_section title=”More about the Patient Act” tab_id=”1621436975267-abf31bcd-7b15″][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1621437029439{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}”]What is required for a patient from one county in Sweden, say for example from\u00a0 V\u00e4stra G\u00f6taland County, to be entitled so to have care from a care provider domiciled in another county, say for example in Stockholm County?<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Firstly, the patient must be eligible to receive care in the other County, in the example Stockholm County. This means that the regulations regarding referrals that apply in the other County Council, in the example Stockholm County, must be satisfied. If the other County Council accepts \u201cself referral\u201d, then this will apply also for patients from Counties outside of Stockholm, and the patient shall be entitled to receive care from the other County Council, always, of course, subject to that the patient is in need of care.<\/li>\n
  2. Secondly, those regulations regarding referrals that apply in the County Council where the patient has domicile must also be satisfied. This is because otherwise the other County Council (that will provide the care) will not be paid by the home County Council. It is the provider of the care that shall control whether this requirement has been satisfied.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n


    \nWhich waiting list rules will apply?
    \n<\/strong>
    \nEach County Council will apply the one and the same waiting list for all patients that are seeking care in the County. It is the urgency to receive care that will decide which patient shall be offered care. Please observe that a guarantee to be offered care, which a County has granted its residents, will apply only in the County where the patient has residence. If the patient has sought care in his or her home County, or declined an offer to receive care in that County, the guarantee cannot be called upon, even if the patient has to wait for care in the other County.<\/p>\n

    Are patients entitled to have compensation for travel and accommodation costs when patients are seeking care outside of their home counties? <\/strong><\/p>\n

    The answer is no, patients are not entitled to compensation for travel and accommodation if they choose to seek care\/treatment in another county. However, should an unforeseen need to receive care that requires the patient to have transport, the patient can be entitled to be reimbursed for travel costs.<\/p>\n

    New patient visits<\/span><\/h2>\n

    When your self referral or physician\u00b4s referral form has been assessed by one the Mandometer clinic’s doctors we will call you to arrange an appointment.<\/p>\n

    At your first visit to the clinic, you will meet with a doctor or an experienced case manager. A detailed history of your eating disorder will be taken, and together, you will work out how the Mandometer clinic can best help you.<\/p>\n

    During your visit we will provide you with all the information you need relating to treatment, including what happens during treatment, what our eating investigations involves, starting treatment, sick leave arrangements etc. The appointment takes about one hour.<\/p>\n
