Mando Group AB is a private healthcare company that provides healthcare service through the Mandometer Clinics. We are engaged in healthcare development, technological development and research. We also provide preventive care; delivering lectures and running education seminars.

The Mandometer Clinic at Sophiahemmet is open 24 hours a day, 365 day per year.
\nThe Mandometer Clinic in Alings\u00e5s and the Mandometer Clinic H\u00f6torget are open 8.00am to 4.30pm Monday through Friday.<\/p>\n

Staff and expertise<\/span><\/h2>\n
We employ behavioural therapists, doctors, nurses, assistant nurses, dieticians and nutritionists. We have 24 hour staffing of doctors, nurses and assistant nurses. The emergency medical team consist of doctors with the following specialties: internal medicine, endocrinology, paediatrics and general medicine. We also have a psychiatrist on board.<\/div>\n

All staff participate in a structured training program that thoroughly reviews the theory and practice of ethics, causes, risk factors, starvation relation psychiatry, psychiatric comorbidity, medication use, learning theory, behavioural therapy, clinical overview and comparisons between Mandometer treatment and traditional eating disorder treatment.<\/p>\n

A well functioning organisation require strong leadership. Mando Group AB invests a great deal of time and energy into developing the leaders of the company. Clinical managers participate in weekly management meeting, with the aim of continual improvement.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Number of patients in remission<\/span><\/h2>\n
\n

To this day, we have treated over 2300 patients to remission.\u00a0 These patients are followed up for a further 5 years. Approximately 10% of patients relapse.\u00a0 Approximately 80% of patients participate in the follow-up program for at least half of the appointments.<\/p>\n

Remission Criteria<\/span><\/h2>\n

  1. Normal eating behaviour and perception of satiety (able to eat 300-350g meal in 12-15 minutes)<\/li>\n
  2. Normal weight (BMI 19-24 for women, BMI 20-25 for men)<\/li>\n
  3. Normal blood samples<\/li>\n
  4. Normal psychiatric status<\/li>\n
  5. Returned to school or work<\/li>\n
  6. Food and weight are no longer considered to be problems<\/li>\n
  7. No binge eating or vomiting in the last three months<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n

    Diagnosis and severity<\/span><\/h2>\n
    \n

    We treat all degrees of severity for the diagnoses of anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa binge eating disorder (BED) and other specified feeding or eating risorders (OSFED). We only exclude patients with ongoing alcohol and\/or substance abuse issues.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

    Eating disorder patients with the following symptoms are in need of urgent medical attention:<\/p>\n

      \n
    1. pulse rate of 35-40 beats\/min and\/or body temperature < 36\u00b0 C<\/li>\n
    2. hypokalaemia: K < 3.0 mmol\/L<\/li>\n
    3. hypophosphatemia: P < 0.65 mmol\/L<\/li>\n
    4. hypomagnesemia: Mg < 0.7 mmol\/L<\/li>\n
    5. ECG \u2013 changes with prolonged QTc interval > 450-500 m\/sec<\/li>\n
    6. acute dehydration > 6 % loss of body fluids<\/li>\n
    7. suicide risk<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n
      The Mandometer Clinic at the Karolinska University Hospital in Huddinge integrates acute medical care with behavioural therapy. The purpose of inpatient care is to stabilise the patient’s\u00a0physiological and psychiatric condition and prepare the patient for behavioural change.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Inpatient care” tab_id=”1611247515370-365b96f6-7993″][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1611248383088{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}”]\n
      The inpatient care facility is intended for patients who are severely underweight and\/or patients with serious medical or psychiatric complications. The inpatient facility is staffed by nurses 24 hours per day, has access to a doctor or psychiatrist within 2 hours at all hours of the day. Cooperative agreements exist between local hospital emergency departments and country operated psychiatric facilities.       The outpatient program runs from 8am-4pm and includes eating training, heat therapy, and an activity program and provides patients with support and motivation through discussions with Mandometer clinicians. The majority of patients attend from breakfast to the afternoon snack. Most of the patients receiving inpatient care eventually transition to the day program. Other patients may be admitted directly into the day program.<\/p>\n

      As patients progress, the hours that they attend the day program become less. For example, a patient my attend the clinic for up to three hours per day; eating one or two meals at the clinic and meeting with their case manager.<\/p>\n

      Other appointments<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

      Other appointments may include motivational talks, visiting the doctor, or meeting with the dietician. We also provide phone and video consultations for patients and\/or their relatives.       We monitor our patient\u2019s health status for five years after they go into remission. We measure eating behaviour, physical activity, physiological state, psychiatric state and quality of life at month 1, 2, 3, 6, 9, 12, 18, 24, 36, 48 and 60 after remission has been achieved.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_tta_section][\/vc_tta_accordion][vc_column_text margin_bottom=”15″]\n


      \nWe provide a unique program for pregnant women who need support with food intake during their pregnancy<\/span><\/h3>\n
      We also provide consultations in the form of counselling, relapse prevention, motivational interviewing, and support for pregnant women or women who are planning to become pregnant.       Referrals to the Mandometer Clinic<\/span><\/h3>\n

      We require the following information from referring health care professionals: age, weight, height (preferably weight and height curves for patients aged 18 years and below), physiological state (including heart rate), menstruation, current medications, eating disorder diagnosis, duration of illness, weight loss over the last three months, presence of binge eating, vomiting, excessive activity levels, previous treatment\/s and risk of suicide. The referral should clearly state that Mandometer treatment has specifically been chosen.<\/p>\n
